Brake lights and signals don't work, HELP!

So I noticed the other night when I went to hit my hazard lights to move cars in the driveway, my signals on my dash weren't working.
Checked the back and front, and they weren't working.
Either were brake lights!!!
My running lights work.
I didn't change anything electronically lately.
I just got two tires changed n all rotated at Firestone, and don't think they could have hit anything..
Any ideas?
Could it be a relay under the hood?
Turn signal fuse is good.
Don't think it's the flasher since brake lights don't work either.
Could it be the brake light switch??

there is a flasher under the dash by the column. but it doesnt look like a flasher it looks like 2 relays together. thats what might be bad its a dealer part only. im not sure of the year of your truck mine is a 2002 and that was bad and i had no brake lights turn signals and 4 ways worked occasionally

It's not the headlights though. Alot of guys on Dak-Dur think its the signal/lever assembly.

I think I'm gonna get a turn signal assembly from a junk yard tomorrow night and see how it goes.

Check your relays under the hood also. Just had a similar problem on my 97 Dodge Ram 1/2 ton. Little different, but in my case the head lights were staying on all the time. I pulled the head light relay to see if I could get the lights to go off that way but I lost my turn and brake lights when I did it.

I wish I could tell you I didn't buy relays and the multi-function switch.
I wish I could tell you that if I did, it fixed the problem.
I wish I could tell you I checked the fuses under the hood.
But I can't.
I got the relays and multifunction and neither fixed it, because after putting in the new switch and going to check my relays I found the fuses under the hood for brake lights and turn signal.
Both blown.
Replaced both, and wala! They work.

So needless to say, I got brakes/turn signals again.

I also got a pair of visors, so I could tweed and have custom embroidered, and they have a 3 screw triangular base, and mine have 2 screws and a rectangular base.
Dammit, 0 for 2.

Got a Power Steering Cap.
YES! finally a point for me.
I actually almost took another one first, but saw this on another kota and realized it looked like mine, the first kota I saw didn't have an engine so I took it off a Neon or something.

All and all, I should be able to sell the multifunction switch on ebay, since I got it all for less then a new Power Steering Cap cost at Autozone.
Can't complain.

They have a tailgate there w/ only a little rust, which I was debating on getting so I could shave it and do some cool taillights in it, but I passed it, though it was only 22 bux.
I may go back another day for it.

i had the same problem...its the "look alike" relay under the dash...there should be a yellow wire going into it...cut it and crimp a new piece in thats what i did and it worked...
