stock floorin my kota

hey guys, just got back to this forum, been gone for about a year... anyways, to all you guys that are stock floored, did you build a whole new frame? or did you cut out the frame beneath the cab section and replace it with tubing as some do? my truck is bagged (home job) and daks are not the easiest (for ex: my front doesn't even lay) to bag, i think i need a whole new frame... where did you go, and what did you pay? thanx

you can replace the framerails under the cab and bed with 2x3 square tubing.

keep the front frame section and use 2x3 1/4 wall tubing all the way back. while your at it z the front a lil so it lays flat.

just do it yourself. i dont respect people that pay to have trucks bagged or BD's

yeah, i was concerned about the suspension geometry if i was gonna have a whole new frame, but i think i'll do it and i'll do it that way (after more research, of course). what u mean exactly by z-ing the frame... i know the concept, but physically what do you mean and should i box the front a little?

make sure you figure out your front set-up to lay before you cut anything else. Take measurements of everything. wheel base, body mount spacing, etc. Just keep in mind, doing it yourself will take awhile and make sure you find someone more experienced to check you work and welds if you can. just check my project thread or shoot me a message if you have any questions.

Measurements!!!!

I reccomend meauring corner to corner in an X from front to back and measure all lengths linearly and write them down so when you are working you can make sure you are in correlation with all of the original specs and you can do anyhting you want to it and it will be perfect its all in the measurements!
