Front Bags????

Ok so I installed a front/back air system on my truck...got all the lines run and plumbed. The back will jump right up, but i cant get the front to lift off the ground....I do have a small compressor I'm borrowin from a friend, its a viair 350, could that be it? What psi does it take for yall to lift the front? The valves work fine and I know air is gettin there, so im guessin its not enough pressure???? PLease help haha...its drivin me crazy

I know when I first bagged my dakota the control arm bushings were seized up. The arms still moved, but it took over 100psi to really get them moving. Just wait until your tank fills up and the switch shuts the compressor off, then try your switches. With a 5 gallon tank I think it takes over 5 minutes to fill with one 350.

How much pressure are you building in the tank? There should be between 145-180PSI. If you don't have a reserve of air pressure in the tank after lifting the back then there may not be much left to raise the front. If you have minimal pressure left in the tank after lifting the rear the front lift will chew that up simply by filling the front system with volume first. Once you use the volume your pressure drops and pressure is needed to lift the front. I run my front bags at 70-80PSI but that doesn't mean I can lift the front with only 100PSI left in the tank.

It also depends where you mount the valves. the closer to the bags the faster it will be. mount the valves on the bags and like 150 or prob less and your shit will hop

I was just goin by the fill times viair had on its website so im not to sure about the exact pressure, I just got a 110-145 pressure switch but would i be better off to go ahead and get the 145-180 or whatever the next one is and a bigger compressor? I dont really wanna hop or go switch crazy just wanna get it up to drive it

At the very least get a higher rated pressure switch. A 5gal tank isn't that big (I know because I have one lol) and a higher pressure in the tank is a must to have that better reserve of available air. A 145-175 is perfect. Anything above that is harder on the compressor.

A Viair 480 would be my choice of compressor if you decide to do an upgrade but if your strapped for cash then just do the pressure switch for starters. It should help with your problem.
