Flared Fender Wells

Help me understand this correctly. If I have the correct offset on my wheels of say a +35mm offset and narrow my rear axle, then I should not have to flare out my bed at the wheel wells if I was to bag my truck correct?

I am asking this because I am in need of repair to my bed, it has a rather nice rust spot on the out side at the rear passenger side wheel. I am assuming this spot will have to but cut out and new metal will have to be welded back into place. The rust has penetrated all the way through the body.

If I am going to have my bed repainted and I plan on bagging my truck I just want to be sure that I will not have to paint the bed twice, so I am trying to see if I should have the fenders flared out a lil or if it is not necessary.

If you narrow your rear axle, you can run a 0mm offset rim and not have to flare the bed. I plan on getting a set of 10" wide rim with 5" backspacing (0mm offset). Depending on how you do your link you can even get a negative off set rim with out messing with the bed.

You only need to flare the bed so you do not have to narrow the axle. If done right you can tuck R/t rim with out narrowing the axle.

make sure u roll the lip on the fenders to. when you cut them out make sure u leave about a half inch or more and roll it. when u roll it the fenders will actually flare out a little on their own. i did it to mine and it's working great........and now i'm in the process of ordering the 22's for the back and when i get them the flare won't help me out anymore. oh and i'm tuckin 18's with 55 series tires in the back with just flared.
