I had to notch out the rear cab corners to get my front link brackets to work. Didn't cut into the floor or anything. Just the sheet metal hanging from the rear of the cab over the front spring hangers. Or where they used to be I should say. That was on a Quad cab though and doesn't need to be done on a XC or RC.

Might have to do some work on the drive shaft tunnel if you plan on laying frame but someone else who's actually laying frame could give you the lowdown on that..

ya im gonna be running 20's up front with 22's in the back
with a 6 link with watts bar
although i am making my notch just so it sits below the bed so i dont have to cut the bed
i will be about 1/4'' from laying frame
so i will just throw some drag blocks on there

so i guess i might not have to worry about notching the cab than?

I had to notch the cab and i am sitting like 1/2" so from the ground since there is a cross member that is bolted under the frame. There is also a part near the front of the seats that needs to be trimmed, but you can either get a smaller drive shaft like i did (3.5" D) or cut it out and brace it with flat steel. here is a pic to show how high off the ground and the cab notch:
modded notch from sdoors

laying plated cross member

1/2"-1" from ground this is the rearmost cab mount that you see on the drivers side. the bushing on the right side of the pic is of the 4 link. its exactly where the stock shackle is for the leaf springs.

Now with all that said i have a QC, not sure what is involved with a RC. Could be more, could be less. I know a guy with a BD QC that didn't notch any of the floor for the drive shaft. He simply had a custom 2 piece drive shaft made. And its not weak either, since he uses his truck to tow a boat............

I have a aftermarket 3.5" steel shaft now and had a stock 4-5" aluminum drive shaft.

i have a two peice on my extended cab and i lay full frame. i didn't have to notch the cab. i do have a question though..........your going to run 22's in the back and still keep the notches under the bed. u said you didn't want to cut up the bed but if you want to tuck them 22's your going to have to. that thing is going to sit high when layed out......and belive me your never low enough so ur going to kick your self later on......imo
