Tailgate skin Combo

I know this has probably been covered, but If I get a tailgate skin combo with the roll pan and weld the skin to the body, how do I get access to the screws that hold the taillights in?

Does anyone have pictures of this?

If you get a combo and weld it to the body, you would REMOVE the tailgate! Therefore elimenating the need to access anything. Unless I am misundersanding your question.

^^^yes thats right

first you have to brace the bed by welding in cross braces where the tailgate used to be or else all the welding an body work you do will crack. your bed is a major flex point.

the cali combo is only the outer skin the inside of the bed will be exposed thus you could leave it open and not have to worry about a access panel

Unless u do what ive done, and have all the inner bed sheetmetaled/welded in....then ur only access point to anything is from the bottom

But i would say that would be a rough task with the stockers, thats why i kept with lights down in the rollpan for easy access

what i plan on doing with my cali combo is to remove the inner tailgate and bult it back in place to protect the inner tailgate skin from a small ding from some crap in the bed hitting it
