My friend and I were out cruisin around in my tricked out 96 5.2. Sitting at a light a trans am pulls up. You know, the 6.6 bird on the hood smokey and the bandit car that we all grew up loving. This was a good looking car, nice shape and sounded beautiful. When the light turned, we both started kind of slow, and kept getting in it a little more till we both hit it. He fell back so fast my friend and I thought surely he was just messing with us and let up. The next light turned red, and he pulled up and gave it a quick rev, and we knew he was ready. As the light turned I hesitated for just a split second to make sure he was going to hit it. As soon as i saw him punch it, I jumped on it. By the time I hit second gear i was more than a car length ahead. The next light turned red, and a few car lengths ahead i had plenty of time to stop, as the bandit, obviously too embarrassed to stop, blasted through the red light past me.

Another good laugh at a victim of the Mopar monster

Ok guys im needing some feedback. Im trying to figure out what to do first body work and paint or do all my performance upgrades/modds first. The motor and drive train is solid with no real issues. Im just looking to upgrade parts for more power. The body is all original and im really wanting a good clean truck with a rollpan, custom hood, billet grille, new lights, smaller mirrors, and fresh paint. I really want to do the body/paint first but would like some feedback from you guys to make sure im thinking clearly on this. All the performance stuff will be done with engine in the truck and I use fender mats so dont think I will have to worry about messing up the fresh paint. So what would you do if you were me?

2003 Dakota/Durango brake caliper mount (modded)
2005 Dakota front brake rotors (turned because they were used)
2000-2001 dodge ram front wheel bearings

Sums up the front for how I did it.in the artical I read the guy used 98 f150 4x4 rotors that I'm assuming were drilled for the newer dodge 5 lug.they are a close fit to begin with but if I have to buy new rotors ill save a trip to the machine shop using stock Dakota rotors.

I have a connection at a junkyard for parts so all my parts are used.I will have new wheel bearings and brake pads befor installed on my truck.old parts for mock up.

Also read that the axles and drums are a direct swap for the rear for the 9.25 rearend.I will find out when mine come in.pics coming soon.:1237:

Can they be extra wound to add more tension to the seat belt? Has anyone ever re-spooled it with new belt like of a different color? My black leather seats now are calling for more black contrast in my interior I have replaced almost all the blue interior with grey a more neutral color. So I figured I could hit up a junkyard possibly find the same BMW I took the seats from if not a nice Cattilac or something with black interior and black belts with a nice more modern fabric material. The Dakota male clip does not fit into the BMW seat female clip so I am having the BMW male clips sewed onto the Dakota spools, since I already have everything cut and apart though I would rather use black has anyone else taken these spools apart??
