you have a white truck and want black...your gunna need alot of body work

all white trucks/cars that leave the assembly line do not have perfect bodies..black cars leave the line with perfect bare body.....black show all imperfections in the body

for a good dupont or PPG paint including primer, sealer, base coat and clear...your looking at close to 1100 just in paint material. not including labor...and when u cue in body work to get it straight...depending where in the country(labor changes state to state) but in Michigan color change to black will cost you 5grand or more for a simple black not a flake or pearl black

I used ebay paint and did bodywork and sprayed it all myself for about $600. Its been 2 years and its fading from lack of clear, but i just wanted a temporary fix untill i can get a good dd for college. It needs some new doors anyway because the rust is working its magic along the bottom edge.

A shop would probably charge you $5000+... if you were close to me I'd do it for around $2800. Its a lot of work to do a color change.

I'm in the middle of a color change on a truck right now and for a gallon a pearl base, gallon of clear, and the needed reducer and hardener is $306. If you include paper, tape, sand paper etc. you can tack on another $300-$400 bucks. Your probably going to be looking for a full price of around 2500 to 3500 dependent on what all bodywork is there. Most shops won't just paint it be because that's to much liability. I'm an I-Car certified painter and body man and wouldn't just pain it. If you screwed up or missed any body work it would then become my problem. Too much liability.
