Argh. Dakota's down.

So last night, realized i needed air in a tire of my dakota. go to fill it up and once it nears full, i hear hissing. back of the rim has big dent. argh. this is nte 2nd time. had it straightened once, but never again. so my dakotas down and Im in a rut. ive been tryin to get my jimmy running and back on the road for winter so I could start rebuildin my dakotas back end, and i take it out of the back yard, after chargin the battery for like 3 hours. go get gas, drive for like 10 mins and smell burning. i get home and my bro goes check our ur rotor. apperantly it was locked up the whole time. there beat/glowing red. so take it apart. Rotors warped = 26 bux, pads were fried =life time warrantee biotches, and caliper = 12 bux. problem is, its 10:30 at night. luckily one of the murrays not too far, in cleveland was open til midnight. so got that n got truck taken care of.
no problem is that my muffler is ghetto rigged on it and its from a silverado. drivin on highway today i heard to big pops coming from under the truck. assuming its either the muffler or cat. i just replaced my EGR Valve, TPS sensor, MAP sensor to get it running in the last month, and it smells like something leaking gas either through exhaust w/ fuel not getting burned off or something.

good news is, excuse to buy new rims for the kota.
tear down begins soon now.

plans for tear down include:
-New Rims. 18's.
-Replace U-Joints.
-Take off bed to Tear apart four link, paint it along with rear end.
put it on right, since previous owner must have done it with the help of a monkey that had terrett's since it's been jacked up since I got it.
-Tub bed and gas door location
-Herculine bed
-Get bedside painted where GF's dad ran into it with his Firebird, where roll pan is because its cracking, driver fender since its got defects in paint near wheel well and Hood since it's peeling.

Sorry to hear about the problems man.Good luck getin them fixed. Also you might want to think about a different series tire for the rims so they dont bend again.

That sux!! I had a brake caliper bolt (not mine) go through my tire AND rim about a year ago!!
I know how it feels!!
If you want my $.02, I think thats a little too much metal on those rims. But they do look cool, just not my taste.
Bad ass truck by the way!!!

My trucks down too, I know how your feeling, personally I'm not diggin the rims too much, like Pblack said, its too much metal, to me it looks like something I would see on a Magnum in downtown Philly

Its only illegal if you get caught..

Well cheap is not always better. Those rims dont look like they will go well with your truck.Just my personal opion but i like the style that you have in the pic of the truck. It might be worth rolling on stockers for a lil bit n save up some cash for rims that you realy like.
