(bench race) dakota in the 12's

Im looking into (ive spent hrs googling) and trying to summarize where this hemi swap would put a short-bed single cab in the qtr.

the goal in to break into the 12's on slicks or drag radials on 100 octane.

help me out guys!

I know the dakota is 2000+ lbs lighter than the ram and they run 15-16's all day.

well the only other one i know of is a 4x4 and he runs it in the mud. i assume if your looking for track times you have a 2wd application? best way to find out is to do it. post pics of entire project and details for all of us to see. Then take that hog out to the track and you can tell google the answer!

that I will do.

contemplating a 6.1 intake and exhaust. dunno the performance from that but with the reduced weight I can afford to move the powerband up some.

cam, tuner,and duals are definite

ya you can defiantly afford some extras. you will prolly have to beef up the front suspension to handle the weight of the bigger motor i doubt its to much but it might try to squash the front enough to cause you to lose all your rear wheel traction
