04 Dak W/V6 Hesitating and CEL Flashing

Hey everyone!

I just bought a used 04 V6 Dak and I am having a few issues with it. I am getting some hesitation when acceleration and when accelerating the CEL is flashes, however, the cell CEL does not stay lit or continue to flash. I am unable to get the code read, because the CEL wont stay on. I figure it is probably the spark plugs and coils and maybe an O2 sensor. Does anyone have ideas on how to check the check, if the CEL wont stay on? And any other ideas about what the issues could be before I spend the money? Thanks in advance.

A flashing CEL means your having an active missfire (while the CEL is flashing) There should be a code stored in the memory to tell you which cylinder is missing. Autozone can check for stored codes... but if there is no code stored the only way to find out which cylinder (or cylinders) are missing is to hook it up to a scan tool (not a code reader) that can check everything while the engine is running. That or just start replacing coils and plugs

Oh and don't mind the trolls lol

had similar issue on my old 99 3.9L had cyl #3 misfire caused hesitation and a sputter.

just double check the the code. the code should tell you exactly what cyl is bad and then go from there. maybe you'll get lucky and jsut replace plugs and or a worn/chaffed wire

I changed all of the spark plugs and the #6 cylinder coil and it runs like a top now. Thanks!
