Have you thought about one of the Hemi engines? 5.7L, 6.1L, 6.4L lol they keep comming. If I were to execute a motor swap I would either go to the G2 4.7L or one of the Hemi engines.

5.9Ls have a huge aftermarket also so that wouldn't be a bad swap either.

it will be a very difficult swap to go to a magnum engine from a 4.7 since the don't share anything.... your better off just getting another 4.7

If you can get everything out of the durango you might be able to make it work.... that's if the 2000 4.7 used a 3 wire BUS like the other engines and not a 1 wire like 01+ trucks

IF that is the case you'll need... complete engine (all accessories too), trans, engine harness, motor mounts, drive shaft, probably the trans cross member too. Pay close attention to the O2 sensors (number and location) on the Durango as well.

I still think your better off getting another 4.7

He's right the 4.7s share nothing with the 5.9s and it will be a major ordeal to swap everything. Better plan on just buying the entire truck and having it at your disposal to pick anything you might need off it. If you were going from a 3.9 to a 5.9 it could be done in a weekend, but the 4.7 swaps are alot more involved as the mounts (trans/engine) and linkages are diffeent along with ALL the wiring.....

Good LUCK though!!!

I suggest that 5.9 is good. I used it and until now I don't have any problem in it.
