They fit, but they will not seal propperly. The magnum headers have a few more mountilg bolts. I don't remember cause it's been a while, but I know that the pre magnums only had 4. The heads are different, and that 's where the problem is. You can have the magnum heads drilled and tapped at a machine shop and be good, or you can look on summit and find some premagnum headers fairly cheap.

i figured you would be the right source for this question. do you know if 3.9l magnum headers will fit a pre-magnum 3.9l?

obx makes some headers and there is some ebay knock-offs for 199$and as far as i know there really isnt much as far as cams but you can get some march serpentine pulleys a good ignition and a v8 tbi and you can probably have a exhaust shop make you up a good dual exhaust with the ebay headers...

I bought a ford TKO-600, and a lakewood bellhousing. You can probally use an AX-15 bell or an NV-3500 bell if you have one. I got an aftermarket flywheel, but you can use the stock flywheel from a 360 ram flywheel from the mid 90's if you aren't going to go standalone. Other that that I had to get a hybrid pilot bushing, one that has the outside for the magnum block, and inside for a ford input shaft. I picked this part up from Keisler, but you can actualy get the parts needed from napt a and make it yourself for about 12 bucks. I learned that after I already spent $45 with Keisler (don't do it). Holla back when you find one, I got mine off ebay for 1900 shipped, new in box.

I have solved the ecm problem, just moved up to a 5.9 ecm. Had some guys tell me that thats what they did with no problems. As far as the intake, the "hughes" version is a little cheaper than eddy's. I think im going to do a 408. Im going to ring my 5.2 until i can get the funds for the stroker. Ive been looking for a tremec, but cant seem to find one for my truck. What did you go through to part yours together?

Intake is going to be very difficult, there were very few of them made. The cam should be easier to find by going to www.hughesengines.com. Any 4150 style carb should work, but if I were you I'd swap out the premagnum v5 and go with a magnum v8 or v6 as the aftermarket is a little more friendly with reguard to finding parts for thouse engines. Many of the things that you can do to the v8's can be done to the v6's if you decide to stay with the premagnum v6.
