Hello all ....
I just signed up and wanted to stop by and say Hi to all. I own a 2001 Dodge Dakota Quad Cab. It's all stock with full leather 5.9l V-8 4X4. My truck is in great shape it only had 71k miles on it when I bought it 2 years ago and it only has 105k on it now. The only thing bad about it is the fact that the person that owned it before me really trashed the stereo speakers in the truck, when I went to the local audio shop they tried to tell me that it would cost thousands of dollars to replace the speakers and I could only get them from the dealer, ( I have the Infinity sound system ) I am hoping to get some advice and help here on the boards on how to fix this problem.

This is a photo of my Toy... I have added rain guards and chrome nerf bars since this photo was taken, I need to replace the fog lights on the truck and I am going to add bed rails this summer.

00dakota,

I asked the guy about that and he told me I would have to replace my head unit also because it would not work with aftermarkets.

they lied to u i had my stock head unit for a few years and i had subs and everything hooked to it, they just dont want to make the effort to do it since its more of a pain than installing a aftermarket one, but it can be done

Agreed, it's them being lazzy. You can install the aftermarket speakers yourself honestly, and save a ton of money. Welcome to the site by the way.

welcome, but try to take the speaker out and look at the spec. or see if you can find the voice coils resistance(ohm rating) somewhere. i know some "infinity" systems use weird speakers like 3 ohm's sometimes less. thats why it may cost so much and can only be found from the dealer.
you should be able to find something aftermarket tho.
