GM Powertrain HQ; employee carshow pics

well today at he GM Powertrain HQ in Pontiac, MI. we had an employee car show and family day since today is the last day before shutdown. greatest thing is just about all these cars have been built by the techs that work in the labs. as usuall i'll narrate as i go:

Building B (design and the museum)

Building C/D (Powertain testing: dyno testing and hybrid, not to mention the cnc shop where the test engine are built from scratch)

^there are 2 engine wings each containing 42 dyno cells

GM PERFORMANCE TEST CARS:
1- Impala, with LSA swap (560hp supercharger cadillac CTS-V engine)

2-99 camaro..LS9 (660HP)

^^read the trans controller line..lmfao

MotorcityMike (runs single cylinder testing 2nd shift)

^540ish CI...1062HP fast as balls!

A leader without followers is just a guy taking a walk.

I like the '60 vette thats at the top of the chevy list, at the bottom is the ugly turd new camaro (I have always hated camaros, dont know why, just always have). I do find it funny work at GM build or drive MOPAR.

At least you can tell the employees with taste

yearly shutdown is always the first week of July. it gives all the plants time to do repairs, preventative maintence and switch the floor for the new model year (july is the start of 2011 build year)

the big three have been doing this for ages. just the public outside of detroit do not hear of this. where i work we dont shutdown completely. we do a partial, most engine still run for testing if needed and we work on the dynos and facilty

i'll be pulling OT all during shutdown
