I think it will just look like mine. Sorry but it will. The only differences are the body style and the amount of black but those arent very big differences. Your even using the same colour. Hell even the rims in the picture you drew look like mine! Its your truck and I certianly dont own a patent on the idea of a T/A Dakota but if i was you I wouldnt want to go to all the work customizing and personalizing my truck just to have it look like someone elses.

Your going to get it all done and be super proud of it and then people are going to say.." Hey I saw one like that on DD or Custom Dakotas or on some other website" or" theres one with a paint job and hood like that in a Magazine I have at home". Thats one reason I did mine like I did so i would be different and stand out.

Its your truck bud and I cant tell you what you should do with it but you did ask for opinions.

thats fine, i appreciate the feed back....originally i was going to paint the truck a lime green like the old aar cuda's were available in, but i thought hat maybe that would be too bold or too different...
i see what your saying about how it will look pretty similar to yours, but like you said its a 3rd gen instead of a 2nd, also its a regular cab, and my black will be flat black and only on the hood..
nothing is set in stone obviously and im not sure if this is truly what i actually want yet, so im not sure if i will go wit this or not, its just a rough idea..
any other opinions?

if it's done right, drawing from the past can be cool. it may be similar to hwystar's, but it is a different generation and body style, so it's not a copy. there was a purple aar gen1 on sporttruck.com

I think it looks pretty sweet... and if that's drawing like a 6yr old, I guess I would be classified as a newborn, lol

if you're wanting it to look like an AAR, the tops of the fenders and doors need to be done just like the cuda's. It maybe hard to do with your curvy bodystyle so maybe doin just the hood would be a good idea. just writing down my thoughts... also the stock AAR black is Organsol Black, its textured and was laquer when they did it back in the day. Its hard to get now a days. They also did a matte black.

yeah i was looking at how to do the tops of the fenders as well as the hood in black, and figured it would be easier to just do the hood, kinda like the T/A challengers, but have the AAR broken up stripe instead of the T/A solid stripe.

I think its kinda a rip off design personally... I mean I guess hwystar's isn't an exact copy or anything, and there is a few guys here goin with the AAR striping..... so there will be several crusiing around in the next year or two if anyone or everyone goes through with it...... So think of that.

I'd go with the green... be different... stand out.. if your goin with that design, make it stand out...
