new mod & new billet prototypes

Well when I was driving to the Woodward dream cruise I heard one of my speakers rattling. So after doing some research i found that Cadence makes an 8" 3- way. The spec.'s on it looked pretty good and I tracked a pair down on ebay. Today I cut the door and installed them. It was tight but they fit pretty easily. The bad, upon looking at my old speakers the one in ? was OK the surround had just come loose from the basket in 1 place. The worse, one of the new speakers has a bad voice coil. They do sound much better though and I'vbe got them croosed over at 50hz. They seem to handle that without to much trouble. Anyway I called the place I got them from and they are sending me out a new pair next week. So I fixed the original speakers and put them back in for now. So next week my pair of Fosgate
6.5's will be going up for sale. Here is the install on the 8's

Now that my truck is here at my house I can try and make some of the stuff that's been cluttering up my mind for awhile. Pulley nose cones were on that lise. I already have thought of a way to improve these also. I have to drive with these on for a while to make sure there are no issues, but for now I'm happy. They withstood a 5500 rpm shot and sat at idle for about 15 min . too.

Looks good, I would have fabbed you up a set of spacer for that man. Probably wouldnt have had to cut the door.

I know but I ran out of time. I also had to move the speakers way towards the hings side of the door. I think with a spacer they would have hit the window channel.
