Lost to a Mustang twice!!!
I built a 331 stroker for a friend of mine for his 89 Mustang LX coupe as a favor to him just to help him out.( he is still paying me back for the parts I spent! LOL) got it in his car and tuned a few weeks back. Last night a few of us got together for dinner and afterwards my friend wanted to run for laughs. I had my Vette so I figured why not. We lined up and he ended up getting me by about 2 1/2- 3 cars! Damn that thing leaves hard! We went back to the parking lot with the rest of out friends and I told them I would be back in a few....Going to get the Dak! Came back with my truck and we decided to run again. My friend on nitrous and me on just boost and no nitrous. We lined up and went for it. This time he left even harder and stayed with me till he missed 3rd gear I left him really bad. It was funny as hell especially when we turned around and came back, one of our other friends drew a 5 speed shift pattern on a piece of paper and gave it to him. We decided to line up again the same way and he got me off the line and I could not catch him! I could not belive it, but he got me by 1/2 a car! We raced again and this time I got him by about 1 car and he wanted another race so I agreed for 1 last time so we lined up again and went for it but I sprayed my truck and left him! (haha I was not supposed to do that) We went back to the parking lot and just decided to hang out for a few. He was really happy with his car and im glad that things were looking good for him after all the bad luck he was having with his job, car, family and everything else. But damn he got me TWICE!!!

The street we were on was marked off for around 1/4 mile. I like my friends Stang, but it has nothing! no a/c, carpet, back seat, radio, center console, manual rack, fiberglass hood and trunk, and its a real pain to drive on the highway with the way I set his suspension, but it does hook nice. I dont need his Mustang, Im bought a really clean 91 GT that I started building but I wont gutt the car like he did. Im currently building a 347 stroker that will have a pretty healthy shot of nitrous.

Yea the Dak is alot faster in the 1/4 mile but the Vette comes alive in the long stretch. Vettes are very hard to make drag cars. It takes alot of $$ but ruins the handling of the car and I would rather hit turns with it than 1/4 mile blasts. Oh and your truck looks great! I like the wheels!!!
