Know how to suicide the hood????

I am looking for any information as to how i can suicide my hood, cause when the truck goes to paint i am gonna have a portrait of a near and dear family member painted on the hood, and it be awesome ot have the hood open suicide to show the hood Mural.........

I know the old hotrod crowd used to use a hood mechanism from a buick LeSabre or something like that. Their hood opened and then slid forward about 4 inches and then suicide opened. Look at some of the street rod or classic truck magazines and there should be an article.

I don't know anyone that has used it but AutoLoc has a kit for it....

I made mine using 1/2" roind stock bent to shape and threaded on either end. Welded in a small tube in the core support flange with a bushing for a pivot point, and made some mounts for the hood side out of some 2"x1/4" flat.

I will check on that idea, and see if it would work, cause my truck still has that extra grill shell as a part of the hood.....

I like that idea, but i just have no welding experience, but i will see about which one of these ideas would work better......

so is it pretty easy to suicide your hood?
