Wheel spacers?

I've been playing with the idea of getting my rear wheels out 1/4 inch or so to get them closer to the edge of the fender flares to match the front wheels. I would love to find a set of R/T rims with a different offset for the rear but they don't exist. In my mindless looking on Ebay i came accross some wheel spacers. Any one ever use any thing like this? I'm not sure if my studs are long enough and i'm afraid the studs may not be strong enough to use them.

Any ideas?

Yeah spacers are not really a good idea.....although 1/4" isn't much, you'd be better off just getting wider tires
