tailgates interchangable?

what are the dimensions of the '05 tailgates? I was wondering if they might possibly fit on the previous models. Sounds like an idea, but even if they did then makin it happen would be quit a task.

holy crap. They have every exterior part, for every car known to man.... and, at a reasonable price. I just assume that b/c dodge charges like 200-300 when these guys charge little more than 100, if that.

I just saw a '97-'04 Dakota with a '05-'07 tailgate the other day at Meijer. I did a double take to make sure. No mistake, they must be interchangeable.
