[Project]: False Bed Floor

So My next project is to start cleaning the inside of the bed up. Starting with doing a False Bedfloor. I plan on doing it from the wheel well back.

Here it is now in Paint form.

And basic idea of what I am doing.

I am going to reinforce the base TEMPORARILY with wood and then when its all said and done, do it with metal. I am making it easily removable for now, and may plan to do hinges and a bag to open it down the road. Who knows.

Here's the first step, the donor floor from batman's old Dak bed.

Shot of part of the hole I am covering, don't have any others, need to take more.
Not too proud of it. lol.

I plan on welding a peice to fill the drop in front, and then a smooth peice on the wheel wells in back to follow shaping. Also will relocate my rear tie downs to bed so I can haul stuff.

Then I plan on putting on a bedliner and then probably rubber seals to fill in the gap between the new floor and walls to give it more of a finished touch..

If theres any guys who can give me some feedback or tips, it would be greatly appreciated.

what are you using the false floor for? transporting drugs? or are you just looking to raise the rear of the floor for Bag parts?

bump

UPDATE:

my buddy dave came over and we started working on it. cut off the one wheel well still on it, trim downed the sides. Welded up the one cut that was in the middle'ish.

Test fit:

After that we added on an extension the wheel well areas since it's higher.

Also, cut the peice for the slope down in the front.

More to come tuesday night hopefully.
