I have a B&M megashifter in my truck also and it wasn't bad to change i am only 16 and i did it I took the lincage out and used a cable and got a B&M shifter with all of the hardware and it worked good

Yea it should work i am actualy might be switching to that because theres something wrong with mine and i have a unimatic like that. It doesn't have anything to do with the truck and the shifter not working together, its because i got the shifter from a swap meet, and theres something broke in the inside of it, but i am gona tear it apart and see whats up
