Floor Shifter

I'm not sure if this is the right section but does anyone have a how-to or know what it takes to convert the column shifter to a floor shifter? I've been wanting to do this. I'm also wondering if some HAS done this how did they wire up their overdrive button??? Thanks in advance!

for the most part the column just uses solid linkage to the trans..get rid of this and get a cable operated style floor mount it pretty simple but the electronic selector for OD is a different story

So can the above pic work as Over Drive control?

So I could for say use a Camaro or Viper (if auto equip.) shifter but would have to figure out the cable length.

I have a B&M Megashifter in my truck.

The install was pretty straight forward. And I took my OD button and mounted it to the dash were the 12 v plug would go(didn't have one) but you can also get a handle from Summit with a button in it, then you can run the wires to that.

All you need for O/D is a momentary button, All is does is complete a ground circuit to tell the computer to turn off O/D.

i know this is an old thread, but to do this on my 95 should be no problem since the button is on the dash already right? is there a specific shifter i need or will any one for a 904 or 727 work?

Any universal floor shifter will work as long as it can work for a 904 or 727 which most do.

And you are golden on the OD button

Is there a write up anywhere for this? I want to do a floor shifter in my stampede but I don't know where to start! Plus, I need to know roughly where the shifter needs to mount so I know if it will work around my factory leather or if I need to sell the leather and get buckets (which I'd prefer but id hate taking the leather out)
