Question Suspension lift

I've got a 2004 Dakota and I'm having a really hard time finding a suspension lift for my model/year. looking for a 3" lift. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated.

A 4x4 should be spring over axle from the factory I believe.

There are some 3" suspension lifts for them, but not many, easiest and cheapest way to get 3" lift is a performance accessories body lift...

body lift will serve no real purpose just for look an imho looks horrible when you can see between frame rails.. the suspension will travel the same amount with body

Correct... but it will allow you to run a larger tire, thus creating more ground clearance.

We're not talking 6" suspension lift with 38" tires.... 3" is marginal at best but vastly improves the look of the vehicle.... I was able to get 6" of lift out of my Ram from a 3" body and 3" on tires...

Companies build gap gaurds, or you can very simply make your own to cover that gap under the box because it looks like poop... although from teh factory there is also an ugly gap there, which higher the vehicle goes even with suspension lift, it becomes more visible and closer to eye height.... so gaurds maybe always should be a thought.....

I suggested a body lift because as stated above suspension lifts for these trucks aren't easy to find, depending on cost and overall function of the truck, for 3" lift.... body is the way to go IMO... If we're talking 8" redneck hockey puck lift... diffferent story... unsafe.. but different story altogether.

for sure a body lift doesnt look as good as a suspension lift, but as dwndak said they arent pointless you can fit bigger rubber in the wells..
i just cant stand seeing hockey pucks under the body lol
one question about the body lift, would you have to extend anything like wires, steering shaft, throttle cable, or anything else to make everything fit in like with the stock configuration?
thanks

Thats the one...... Performance accessories.com will get you the part numbers, call local shops with those numbers, or hit ebay and save a wack load... Thats where I got mine, after shipping I saved $200 bucks..... Same kit, not a knock off or no name brand...

Here was my Ram... pre lift, stock tires I think 275 55 20 I believe..

After the lift....3 inches on tires, and 3 inches on body... 35x13.5x20 Mickey`s....cheap and easy... Suspension 6 inches was around $1500-1800 ish.... Bodylift was $450 shipped...

I went to the hardware store, got some alumium flashing, and some spray on rocker gaurd..... cut to fit.... rivetted on .... Looked almost factory.... Better then the plastic shit perf. acces. sells... but then again some ppl would rather just buy and install then use $10 and a few brain cells... I guess..... It was super quick and easy... Sold the truck two weeks later for an insane price ... Miss it ....
