Can I do a 3/4 drop on 18's? *Pics*
Hey guys i want to drop my truck but i dont know the height i want to do. I either want to do a 2/3 or 3/4. I want to do the 3/4 really bad but i dont know if ill rub really bad.The size of wheels i have a 255/55/18's all the way around. I have been getting mixed opinions about if ill rub. To lower the front i am thinking Coils and for the rear just buy new lowering leafs and maybe a block. Well thanks for the advice guys!
later,
Pablo
PS. If anyone has pictures of there dakota with either a 2/3 or 3/4 drop can you post your pictures up? I really want to see how they look.
With current wheels:

Dude, you should have no problems with rubbing with a 3/4 drop..... The best way to find out for sure though would be to take a tape measure and measure the distance between your tires and your wheel well. Also check to see if your tires stick out too far. This way you can know if you have propper offset or not. Basically if you have more than 4' of clearance in the front and back, you should have enough room. Good luck and get some pics of it dropped up.

just something to keep in mind, I did a 2/3 drop on my quadcab, I used coils in the front and 3" blocks in the rear and it rides like total shit. I'm going to redo mine using the lowering arms in the front and put my stock springs back in and then for the back I'm going to rip those blocks out and go with the belltech lowering leafs. Hopefully it will ride much better.

if you look at my photo album i had a 5" drop with 18" rims and they had a good bit of rubber. the guy i bought my rims off of had a 5/7 drop on his truck. now he did rub in the back but the front was fine. it also depends on shocks if you get good drop shocks you'll be fine.

A fellow MADRT member dropped his QC with hangers and coils but left the stock shocks and bumpstops. It bottomed out every few seconds and rode like crap. We swapped out the bumpstops for smaller ones and changed his shocks for a lowered shock and he is lovin' life again.
Shocks make a huge difference in the ride of a lowered truck, don't forget to get the ones to work in the range you lower your truck.

So i should be able to do 3/4 drop then huh. In the front should i go with drop spindles or lowering control arms? I already ordered Toxic Lowering shocks yesterday.
