on my truck there is a crossmember that runs from one side of the frame to the other, it dosent support anything, i think it is just fom bracing but it is on the ground when im layed out. I am almost positive if i took it off i would lay completely on the frame. and mine is not z'd

could be your transmission crossmember....
if it is....
it should probably stay.

i'm likley gonna get a new trans. 'member made so its not in the way.

the front crossmember under the engine, however.....
thats gonna remain the same, probably plate it for protection, don't want to drag through that

its not the transmission x-member it just runs from one side to the other about a foot after the drive shaft starts.

I dont know the purpose of it but whatever. i kinda makes me mad that the frame dosent technically lay on the ground cuz of that thing though.

yeah i thought about it but i think the way im set up the shocks would bottom out before it hit the ground so i would have to move my shock mounts maybe my bag mounts cut the thing off and fab a new one that is notched to go around the drive shaft, and at my new job i work 50+ hours per week and go to college full time so im short on time. Plus I got a new project ill show everybody when its time.

theres a carrier bearing on the 2 peice shafts. that will lay but your front frame still wont lay since your frnt crossmember is 1.75" aprox lower then the frame.

zing the frame isnt as simple as just cutting the frame and lowering it. when you do so you need to lower the front bumper suports at teh same time along with modiying the upper rad suport. theres sooo much work that no one ever mentions
