C notch question

Getting ready to get going on the 92. The first thing I am going to do is the notch. Should I get a pre made one, or make my own out of square tube? How do I figure how tall my notch needs to be? I am running a 20 with a 40 series tire?

If done right either type will work best. In my experience the pre cut ones seem to hold up better. As far as how to measure that's easy, it just depends on how low you want to go. If you just want to lay frame, simply measure the distance from the bottom of the axle to the ground. That is how much room you will need from the top of the axle to the bottom of the notch. Its always better do overkill on the size, making it bigger now will save you from completely cutting it up if you decide its not low enough in the future

theres advanages to each style

my self i like using the square tubing. ive done it where i have fabbed them so all you do is cut the upper part of the frame out slide them in weld it all in then finish cutting the center out.

also we offer 1 peice frame notches the slide over the frame and you weld them in. then cut the center out and all that you need to do is box the inside portion that was cut out.

the 8 peice frame notches work good aswell and there offered in 8" and 10" aplications

dependign on your set up will also effect the notch hight. if you were to moutn the notch so that the top of the axle sits 1/2" from the bottom of the notch you will not have enough room for a bag over axle set up. since bags are 3" compressed your axle mounts need enough room to bolt the bags in you lost atleast 1.5" again and then room for your bridge. unells your bridge steps up higher.

jsut someting to think about when doign a notch you need to think of everything in advance so your not redoing it.

if you get a 10 in you should be fine but just double check your measurements. also it might help to box the inner part of the frame where then notch is going that way you can get a better weld down the side
