just springs and blocks
What are the steps to do it?? lol
Do i need to compress the spring???

For the front, i never use a spring compressor. A good floor jack and a steady hand will be good enough.
jack up the truck and put on jack stands
take off the wheel
place jack under the lower control arm
take out the shock
take out the coder pin for the lower ball joint
take off the nut for the lower ball joint
jack up the floor jack to the lower arm until it raises the arm slightly
pop the ball joint
slowly lower the control arm
take out coil spring and replace with new
repeat in reverse order to reassemble
for the rear
jack up the truck and place the frame on jack stands
take out the shocks
undo the u bolts (one side first)
jack up the axle housing
insert block
lower back down
reattach u bolts
repeat with other side
Hope this helps, this is the fastest way i was able to do it and my preferred method. Good luck and be safe. A second person always helps also. and if you dont feel comfortable doing it then dont. proceed at your own will.

also here is a PDF file for the suspension of our trucks. Its for a 2000, but it will explain ans show you exactly how everything is put together to give you an idea of what your up against. This should be EVERTHING you need to know...............
