What about shackles?

I have a 98 Dakota 2wd I lifted the front end with 2inch coil spacers and back end with a pro comp add a leaf. Well the back of the truck is sitting 1.5-2 inches to low still. From my research I figured I could use a 2 inch lowering Shackle from a Full size Chevy to make up the difference. But now i find info saying on a 2wd it would just lower the truck and on 4wd it would raise it. I have a 2wd what else can I do to bring the Back up higher?

I have been told from many that axle flip kits make the dakotas unstable and more prone to axle wrap not really sure I like that Idea.

As far as the smart comment about WHY? You have your Dakota I have mine. You do what you want to with yours and I can do what I want to with mine. I am sorry but I get tired of hearing Why? My 2wd Dakota Has seen More off-roading in its life time sitting stock than alot of Lifted 4wds.

i dont see why using a chevy shackle would make it lower....id say that would raise it however much u want...if that lowered it there would be tons of static drop guys on here with chevy shacles...And again WHY? just playin...to each his own

Shackles are one of those things that are universal, so long as your leafs will bolt to them, you should be fine. I can understand why you'd be upset about the why question, but If I may mention it, this site caters more to the low at at heart. I'm not saying you are wrong for your response, but I will say that Dakota-durango, or dakotausa are sites that would probally be a bit less inquisitive about your suspension choices. On Custom most of us want to get either as low as posible or in my case as low and fast as possible lol. Good luck with lifting your ride and post up some pics when you are done.
