Gen I/II Good news bad news

Well I can definately confirm that the DJM control arms will work on a GEN II dakota. However as always there is a problem. The stock arms on a GEN III are slightly longer than those of the GEN I/II. I've got pics of the stock arms next to eachother, and you can clearly see that the one on the right is longer by about 1/2". So now I have to modify the DJM's and I should be good to go. Wish me luck, and I'll post up some more pics of the final product.

...sweet. so that means that gen1/2 arms will cure some of the tucking issues for the gen3 guys.

No need to cut anything, simply flip the gen II mount to the under side, and you should be fine. From what I could tell before I cut the ball joint, they are pretty close to the same. I'll keep everyone posted as I finish up this job. I'm hoping that I get everything finished up before the weekend, I need my truck back to rolling condition before the wife looses it. Anyways definately wanted to share the info with all of you guys.

So they use the same taper balljoint? That would mean you could get early spindles and hubs and have 5 lug with factory parts and get drop spindles to help lay big wheels.

Yup that is exactly what that means. take a look at the first pic I posted, and you will see that the only difference is the flipped ball joints, and the bolt in type. If you wanted to keep stock suspension, and get cheap lowering parts you can switch to the gen I/II part.
