brands?

Hello,
I know there are many parts threads but my internet access is limited at the moment. I am planning to start my work on my 1996 V6 dakota in 2 weeks, and wanted to get suggestions on some parts;
rockers
headers
ignition
where to find a trustworthy superchips
mabye some unconfusing info on exhaust
air intake, thought about fabing my own
any other suggestions one might offer
i have about 2grand to dump in the Dakota, wanting to do it wisely and be able to get the most for my money
i can do all the mechanical myself, just don't know much about what to put on.
i appreciate any info given and apologize again for not doing my own thread search... thanks... el dave

well what are you after in the end? just more power out of it?

I'm sure you could find a really nice 360 to put in there for 2g's

yeah lookin for more power. more low end torque.
with my current setup, the way it was when i bought it, i have very little low end. would really like to work on the v6 rather than go to a v8 though. yeah i already emailed about the headers.

I only mention the V8 cause it's pretty difficult to get decent power from the 6's......

superchips doesn't make a tuner for anything before 98

gears will help alot with low end get up 4.10's or 4.56's

with the exhaust... trial and error pretty much...

if i had 2K.... i'd go with the underdrive pulleys, electric fan, port and polished TB, then work the gears. i'd personnaly go with 4.11 gears. or if you can get an R/T rear, they came with the 3.92 gears.

TB- $80 (look up bwdakrt)
underdrive pulleys - not totally sure on price (lookup Deanler, link in his sig)
electris fan - local junkyard. you can get one from 01-04 dakotas... i believe thats the years for them
R/T rear - $~800 from a junkyard. (at least around my way anyway)
4.10 / 4.11 gears - assuming you have the 8.25 rear (10 bolt) (look here > NATIONAL DRIVETRAIN: Differential, Drivetrain & Ring and Pinion Supersite )
