Guages/Doors Wiring

So on my 97 Dakota im having a few issues with wiring, mainly being i have no idea what is what, or what the hell the dude i bought it from did. First off its a 97 with a newer dash, 2000 something. It fits great, looks awesome. However, the guages do not work. When i bought it he said the newer guages just werent compatible. I tore the dash apart today and the wires just werent hooked up, its all digital. I plugged them in but they didnt work, one blinker light stayed on lol What do i need to do to make them work? Get a 97 cluster? Is there something after market i could buy that would hook up to the wires and i could just sit in there? Also the plugs fit in both holes of the cluster and also fit in each one two ways, so maybe i just have the wrong combo. Anyone have a wiring diagram of this truck?
Also my auto doors do not work, they may be newer door panels, im not sure, but the wires do hook up. However, only the power mirrors work, the door locks and windows do nothing. Does anyone have a wiring diagram of the door setup?
Im good with wiring i just have nothing to go by and feel overwhelmed looking at it all. This is one of the few things i still need to get it on the road, i need to get it done asap. For the guages i wouldnt mind something aftermarket that just sat inf ront of the old stuff or something but its digital idk how i would go about doing that. My fuse box is also a bit rough, looks like its been through hell. Not sure if some fuses are missing or what there are some empty slots but i dont know for sure if they are missing or just not needed. Anyone have a layout of how that should look?
I know this is allot, i dont quite know where to begin.

If you get a haynes or chilton manual they have wiring schematics (sp?) in them.

get an older style guage cluster... that might work for ya.

the power lock/doors need relays and fuses put into the panles under the dash and under the hood. try doin the fuses/ relays first. then tackle the cluster.

the cluster may also be bad...
