wiring questions
Ok you guys know I have a QC. I just bought a radio with 3 preamp outputs. now if I am hooking up an amp and subwoofer do i need to also wire the factory speakers to the amp or not. I was thinking no cuz they should already be wired to the headunit itself. and also if i install a dvd player in the center console which wire would be best to connect to power supply wise. I was thinking just tap into the cig. outlet. and if i did would it have a constant power. i was thinking no because of the fact if you plug a cell phone charger in it doesnt run while the truck is off. I am trying to make sure i hook everything up right and not kill the batt.

ahh im crazy but i have a relay block under dash that runs a 4 gauge wire direct from bat and goes to aftermarket components due to factory harness tends to drop volts when played most of the way up ran into this problem on mustang and radio is so clear on big punches with the subs off but with the 2 12s i cant tell

Stock speaker can go direct to the head unit. An amplifier will only overpower and possibly blow your stock speakers. As far as the DVD you can tap the same power wire used for your head unit.

whats the power draw of the dvd player? why not use the amp power wire. but the headunit's switched power wire works too.
are you running an amp(s)?

Just wire the DVD player to the fuse box, that way it will come on only when the truck is on. And for the amp, don't wire mids to a sub amp especialy if the RMS Wattage is above 35rms per channel. If you have any questions bout wiring to fuse box just ask me.

I wired some cold cathodes under the dash of my truck and i wanted them to come on only when my truck was on so i wouldn't need a toggle switch. So I found the spare fuse slot and bought an adapter to wire it in. I ended up putting in a toggle switch tho after I got in trouble with cops for interior light while driving at night. Lawlz. Have fun.

offtopic but. i used to do that, lol
btw the stock fusebox(interior one) has all the connections made, just need to add connectors to the plugs on backside to have nice and factory.
its a PITA, but i had dash apart and wanted to clean it up sp i figured y not.
