5 lug ?

will jeep liberty axle shafts work and brakes ? the shaft on Randy's Ring & Pinion. The Differential Experts. Auto Parts & Services. is saying its 30 7/8 long and they have disc brakes and its 29 spline. the dakota says its 30 13/16 and 29 spline. so its a 1/16 to long which i would imagine would be a very simple fix and give a 5 lug

sh*t if you have a 2nd gen that your talking maybe 200ish dollars for all 4 wheels to swap

the front hubs are interchangable with the 1st gen (5x4.5 lug pattern) the spindles are exactly the same as well as the calipers.

the rear the axle tubes are the same as the frist gen, but first gen is a 27 spline axles. so swap spiders axles and drums and bam done. just takes a quick trip to the junk yard.

btw im ASE and michigan master certified....but i love these daks and have built them over and over. i think i had a sticky in one of the sections about the 5lug swap on a early gen. the 5x4.5 pattern is the most genaric mopar pattern. you should be able to find some rims pretty cheap just keep in mid the long run if you want to tuck wheel if you ever go the bagged route you'll need a high offset

i def wanna bag 1 day and would love to tuck but i would much rather have a usable truck. i got a bike that i like to move around and sometimes i run bikes around for a motorcycle shop here. i do plan to bag so i can be as low as possible to help with loading 1 day. and the reason for the liberty axle idea was to keep the 29 spline and the possibility of disc brakes.

well if its just the whole axle swap then use it, you can always have it narrowed. but the front hubs are gunna be dif. cuz the newer dodge lug pattern is 5x5 or 5x5.5 IIRC
