wow, paranoid about leaks? Nah, I'd probably have the same idea. This is a good thread, love the ideas

God that shit sucked, that was a huge fucking leak also. I have had two since then. I am real close to getting a new cell. I just need to work out a couple of fine details. should have it ordered by Monday. That's awesome about the new place, congrats man. Is it far away, closer for further from me? Oh and i am pretty sure i work the 31st.

On a different note, i did get another update. I found out that the RCI cells are made with a i think .060 thick aluminum and they are spool gun welded. All the custom cells cells are made form .125 thick and are tig welded. this means thicker material + stronger welds=no more leaks. I have one quote so far for 650, and will have a second quote tomorrow. I am still waiting to hear back from two of the four shops i contacted.

The new place is two blocks from Jason's (Green SDime on 20's?) I can't remember if you've been to his place or not. But I know you've been to the fairgrounds in Carlisle, I'll be 2 miles from there!!! So I think Carlisle is closer for ya, just depends what road you take here.

FYI: Below is the cell I've been wanting to get to work on the truck. It has a flange the whole way around it so I can bolt it right to the floor of the bed! When I first joined the sites (many many years ago) a guy put one of these in his Rango and had good results.

I am going to go with either Alumiworx or Chiseled Performance. I haven't decided yet. If i can get alumiworx to do internal baffling and make it out of 1/8" (cheaper material) then i will do that. other wise i will go with chiseled. I will hopefully be able to order my cell no later than WED if everything goes right.

As far as the pump............ I am actually working on making a kit to convert the stock pump to work with ANY fuel cell. You and rook will be the first to know. Should only cost around $50 or so.

well a its been over a week and i finally got fuel safe to reply to my email. They are the last company to respond to me. I emailed all the companies at the same time with the exact same info. Here is a quick review of the customer service i have experienced so far with these companies. I hope this helps those of you who are looking to get a custom fuel cell made.

Out of all the companies Fuelsafe seemed the most unwilling to sell a fuel "tank". There answers were very short, and just unwilling to answer questions. They made it seem like there were going way out of the way to answer simple questions like a price quote. That with the SLOW response and incredibly high price makes me want to have nothing to due with them. They even told me they are don't like doing tanks like this since if the customer (me) mounts it incorrectly then that makes them look bad as a company if something goes wrong. And even if it was made out of 1" material. I get what they are saying, but personally I think if they made a tank that fucking thick that if it did start leaking that it would be way more likely a default from the manufacture than faulty install.

On a lighter note, CHISELED PERFORMANCE was the most helpful. They went out of there way to answer questions i had and gave advice on things for a project like this. They also had the best price out of the 4 places i contacted.

Alumiworx was also very quick to reply to my questions and has a middle price. They also offer everything i am looking for and have the most options available making them the best bet for those needing a true custom tank. so i will be definitely going with them.

4secondflat has a slightly higher price but offers the best build time. They are also very fast to respond to questions with simple to the point answers.
