anybody done a 318 CARBORATED swap in a 2nd gen b4??

hi guys....just went out and bought my self a rebuilt 318 and 727 tf trans out of a 71 dart.......so obviously its not holley tbi........having some issues with what to do with the wiring and motor mounts....the tbi mounts had a bolt go thru them.....the ones needed for this one are just flat......can i unbolt the mounts from the frame and instal the other ones...or do they need to be costom made??? i was thinking fabricating a flat surface and use hockey pucks for bushings??? (f#$&in right im canadian) i dunno but i want my truck to start again...kinda goin crazy here...thanks

What year is the truck, was motor was in it to begin with?

If its a gen two use your factory 3.9 *assuming thats what you have* mounts, and bolt them to the new motor. Deanler on here did this swap, well I think his was a tbi magnum motor, but he just used his V6 mounts for the new motor. If its a gen one you'll need a different option I THINK.... not positive. Thing was that the gen 2 trucks had the v8 option, so thats what makes me think the mounts are interchangable, and deanler said so... but I'm unsure of the first gen and how they will mount up. You'll also need an electric fan as well.... there isn't enough room to use a belt driven with the two extra cylinders...

dude simple enough, call schumacher (Schumacher Creative Services) the mounts they sell are for the dakota frame to magnum block and they have the adapter for the 727

and def get electric fans since the standard clutch fan will not fit

and if you need to fab mounts just make solid mounts instead of hockey pucks

dude this shit is so easy its almost just like a 1st gen and all i did in mine was took square tubing and welded it to the frame if you need some pics my 87 dak has a 73' 318 and a 727 out of 70' scamp and has an engine driven fan and you dont need that overpriced 727 mount from schumacher all you have to do is elongate the two bolt holes on the passengers side of the tranny crossmember and use the plate they have on the factory trans so if you want some pics and the cheap ass route hit me up, Nick
