Question 4.7 life expectancy???

Im wanting to know the life expectancy of the 4.7 motor found in our trucks. I've heard 150k miles from Allpar has Dodge, Chrysler, Plymouth, and Jeep car, minivan, and truck information but i've seen trucks with higher mileage. so how long do they go before they need major mechanical work or rebuilt?? im very curious cuz i wanna buy a gen 3 as a shop truck, and id like the 4.7 cuz (so ive heard) its a better motor than the 5.2 but idk. there isnt much info on the web for these motors.
any input will be helpful. thanks guys.

as long as the crank position sensor doesn't crap out... they are golden.

BTW, that sensor is easy to get to... just a PITA to remove... as it seizes to the block pretty much

I got my 4.7 at 60k in 2005, now I'm pushing 130k. So far no problems. I just change the oil every 3k and plugs every year or so. I had to replace the belt once. I hope nothing major happens to it. Knock on Wood. I have too much invested in her to have the engine shit out.

I did have the A/C compressor clutch explode on me. But that wasn't a huge problem.

my dakota has 112k but only 3k since the rebuild which was only because i wanted to beef it up for the 15-20lbs of boost. Before that I beat the shit out if it every day, including taking it to the track every Thursday for at least 10 passes for two years. Never had a problem. I also have a 01 durango with 130k and that is also abused, ask anyone who has driven with me (see Sh0kota's sig lol)
