check engine light

i just recently changed the clutch in my dak, along with the cam sensor, and slave cylinder. my question is my check engine comes on ever 100 miles or so, then goes off in another 100 miles i can't check because something is wrong with my dagnotic port. the thing is when the light is on the truck runs alot better. have any of u guys had this problem and can tell me wrong the deal is.

sounds like a vac problem, check your hoses for leaks or see if you missed one on accident.
