how to take off the fan clutch?

Self explainitory...lol what exactyly do I losen and take off the manual clutch fan

WHOOOSH!! Right over my head. Pretty complicated explanation Chuck. Can you put it in plain english and layman's terms? lol

Actually it's the BIG nut behind the fan. Just be sure to loosen it the opposite way the fan would normally spin. A piece of wood jammed into the belt pulley will stop the motor from turning over while you free the nut. Some of them take a little coaxing but be carefull you don't destroy the belt or pulley doing it.

we had a hit of trouble with 00dak's. the belt kept slipping. we used on of those rubber strap wrenches(pryed against another engine part)
i want to say its a 32 or 36 mm nut, dont quite remember.

i found if you take an air chisel to the nut on the left side right on the edge it will often get it to break loose and you do not have to worry about holding the belt or anything

yeah same here... give it a little nudge to break it loose then it comes off like a breeze
