gonna be difficult to get a system in there if the 06 is like the 07. my stereo guru and i have been brainstorming and troubleshooting practical ways to make a speaker box for this truck with no luck. at least for the quad cab anyway. there is no extra space. they should make a dakota mega cab, haha. when we come up with something i will let you know. keep reminding me and i will let you know our progress.

yeah that works if you have buckets. i don't have buckets, i have a 60/40 split. if you have buckets a custom box is a snap, because you can easily do a console like that. i have done a few of those in the past. some friends and i had a custom fiberglass shop a while back and we did all kinds of pretty things, haha.

but the center bench / seat can be removed from the daks. if there the same still. i know cuase my 98 dak had it and all i did was unbolt the seat and cut the bracket.

also have you seen the new thin subs?? i forget who makes them but there only 3" thick and can be mounted under the seats. they dont give the same bass as a full sub would but or all they are they are pretty good or what they are.

Might check these out, you could even do an eight with little modification to your door. Just make da hole little bigger. I believe the mount depth is like 3 inches. Pioneer premier TS-SW1041D
