ok couple of things first is im new and this is my first dodge i have ever owned its an 87 dakota but a few problems when i make a right hand turn i hear a clicking noise i thought it was my tire (2x4 btw) rubbing but its not i noticed my transmission doesnt work very well could the clicking be coming from that its an automatic which brings to my second concern did the 87 gen1 dakotas come with a 5 speed trans mission and if they did how hard is it to convert any info at all would be greatly appreciated b4 my dakota i was a die hard ford guy......kinda came to a screeching halt lol love my dodge

a clicking noise...where exactly are you hearing it? i don't see the problem being a tranny since it happens only when turning. so here are my ideas. if you are hearing in the front, maybe a binding balljoint or tie-rod end. if you are hearing in the real maybe the rear end. the spider gears can make a clicking noise when turning. hope this helps.
