ugh even the 5.9 wont touch them beleive me. I used to run at the drags all the time but I got sick of the srt-4's and elcipse's blowing me outta the water. they would always laugh but I would always tell them why dont you pull that little hair dryer out and run it oh-natural

They were the 2nd fastest production car from Dodge at the time when they were built. Only second to the Viper. So yeah, when you think of all the heavy weights Dodge had at the time, a little 4cyl is damn impressive.

My old Srt-4 ran 14.1 stock with 700 miles on it. after stage 1(mopar perf computer) it was running 13.7's all day long. I miss it, but the insurance was more than the car payment

yea they are pretty nasty theres a guy around here putting 310 at the wheels thats dang good for a 4cyl, i rode in it about a month ago and it was all he could do to keep it in the road from spinning from a kick in second gear!

i like them, people underestimate them. its fun watching a stock srt-4 blow any civic out of the water all night long

there is alot of those dam things.... i dont really like them but have alot of respect for the fact they can kick Subarus wrx's ass... i like that lol but other then that i wouldnt get it, its still that same old NEON that eventually takes a shit!

I'd never own one. I'd rather own a twinturbo z over a four door grocery getter with a turbo. Or atleast build a fast grocery getter yourself.

I HATE 4 bangers rods! I suppose if thats what trips yer trigger thats fine, but, personally, I dont see spending 25K to make a 4 banger do what a V8 can do stock. Of course I grew up when the SS Camaro, GTO, Charger, Nova, Mach 1 Stang and such were the kings of the street. :049: If I had the dough, I would have a Dak that no Porshe or Lambo could touch. it may be a 4 banger that does what a v8 can do BUT, how many cars/trucks do you know of that have thats much power and are as light and agile as an srt-4?

2nd gen eclipses with a built engine and turbo will blow the srt-4 out of the water. They chose the wrong engine, the 4g63 engine thats in the gsx and gst or tsi talon is a heavy engine that cant take much abuse, the 420a engines are almost bullet proof. Dont hate on "import" because the 420a engine is a mopar engine, same as whats in the avenger a modified 4g63 vs a modified turbo 420a engine the 420a would win. Blame the fast and the furious for ruining good cars the green eclipse is actually a 420a with a turbo.

hmm seems you might know a bit about your import engines. gen 2 eclipse is one of the few cars i would actually buy. gen2/3 prelude and i wouldnt mind a 60's version mini cooper.

i had a 95 avenger 420a and a 2001 eclipse which is a 3rd gen with a 4g63 awd and no thats NOT factory
