i have emule, i dont really know how to work it, but when you load it, click on the "servers" icon, double click a server (or to randomly connect to a server, click "connect"). Once you have connected to a server, click on "search" or something like that. Type in what your looking for, (i.e., Band names, CD names, DVD movies, PC Games, Porn, ect.) , then select the results you want. Then to see the progress, click "transfers". The bad thing about this, is that it pulls sections of the file(s), from different users. So always check to see if the file is 100% complete.

i have always used and liked win mx it is designed for ease of use and it also allows you to customize it to your prefrences if you wnt to and if not it uses the fastest presets it can
it also downloads from other users in pieces so that it can optimize time making it one of the fastest out there i have accually downloaded full cd's in 2-3 min on cable inet

I have used only Kad for years with emule, not ed2k servers so I know it should work pretty well.

* Make sure you pass the udp part of the port test.
* Get a decent router. Or better, remove the router. When there are less components that can fail your system can get more reliable.
* Do not overload you internet connection. UDP traffic can and will be dropped if you set your upload and/or download too high. Set correct connection speed limits.
* Virus checking on eMule udp traffic is useless. If eMule write a virus it will write it as a file in your incoming directory.
