I bought a holley in line fuel pump #12-920 and an adjustable fuel pressure regulator....im working on how to make the sending unit work correctly though..the gauge works from 20ohms full and 220ohms empty..but the sending unit in the tank goes from 90ohms full and 0ohms empty..I built an inverter circuit on a breadboard that works but every time i try to solder things together i think im frying the transistors....

Oh yeah, your stock pump and sending unit will not work in any aftermarket fuell cell that i'm aware of, but the cell manufacturer can probably hook you up with a sending unit and you'll definatley need an inline pump, I'd go with striped99's pump advice for this app. all my fuell cell/electric pump knowledge is with carbed drag cars

If it makes it any easier, I have found that you can relocate the factory tank to behind the axle, then just extend lines and wiring. I was going to run a cell, but I had the same problem with the sending unit, no one makes one that exactly matches our factory unit, you could run an after market gauge, but decided to relocate factory tank for now, and run my cell when I make a new dash then just run all after market gauges.

Just get a fuel cell the same height as the factory and use your factory pump and everything will work the same. Thats how mine is.
X2, only my cell is a little to deep. All you need to do is get a cell thats te same depthe ahd the hight of the stock pump, and then just extend the fuel line, wires, and emisions line. its as easy as that
