Well it finally happened. I got an unsafe vihicle ticket for modified suspension this morning. The dick also gave me a ticket for modified exhaust???? I didn't even do anything to cause this. He was in a Ram 4x4 and pulled up along side me in the fast lane. As soon as he saw inside my bed and saw I had it cut out for the notch, he slowed down and pulled behind me and lit me up.

Anyone gotten out of one of these tickets? I had one before but just paid the fine, $150. That time the cop actually caught me railing. But it does put a point on your record and I don't need another point or my insurance going up. ~:(

Lawyer and bedcover lol.....that sux man.....here in my home town it realy doesn't matter unless its when you get pulled over and taken to jail for a DUI or anything but if yo uget a lawyer here they just dismiss the case. It costs more than the fine but in the long run it'll be cheaper than your insurance going up.

Ouch, around where I live the cops don't care about anything. I;m running with no cat (we don't have inspections here in Iowa !headbang ) and I've been pulled over for racing and got off with only a warining.

I've gotten 2 unsafe vehical tickets. I just got a reminder the other day about 1 from last yr. Last i checked theirs no way to fight it. I've gotten nothing about it on my insurance. As my insurance get lower every yr (good driver discounts). But the first time i got unsafe vehical, the dick tagged me with mod exhast, no frnt license plate, an limo tint windows. The 2nd time, was unsafe/Frame too low. An he tried to tag me for a in dash screen. REMEMBER IN DASH screens are not illegal, BUT IT IS ILLEGAL TO PLAY A MOVIE WHERE THE DRIVER CAN SEE IT. knowing this saved my ass on that ticket, but got me written up 4 no frnt plate again. I guess he need to get me for more then unsafe vehical/frame too low. Both times i was on my way home from work.

Thats whats stopping me from baggin my truck. I got the bags, compressor, tank, valves, lines and switches. All I need to do is get brackets and links. BUT they are cracking down on modifided cars/ trucks here, so I'd be better off in the long run not doing it. My co-worker got pulled over for his roll pan dammit! Well if anyones intrested in the air ride kit let me know.

Here is the most important thing you can do... READ YOUR TICKET. Did the cop mark correctable or uncorrectable? Did the cop screw up and write hydraulics on the ticker? If it is correctable all you have to do is put in bump stops so it will not lay out, and so that the frame can not go lower than the lowest point on your wheel. Second if you have a bottle, take it out when you go get inspected.

If it is uncorrectable, take it to court. Do everything I told you to up there, and take pictures of everything... bags, bumpstops, shocks (yeah, you have to have shocks). Make it look like a tech. article for a magazine. Then when you go to court drive your truck there. Overload the judge with information. Explain to him that nearly every tractor-trailer on the road is equipped with a pneumatic spring suspension, similar in design to yours.

Mosty likely the judge will not have a clue. If you go in there, look professional, and talk like you know what you are talking about he will most likely let it go as a fixc it ticket, like $10-$15.

Good Luck Man.
