My 3.9 wont start. Christmas day i did a full tune up fuel filter, cap, rotor, air filter, plugs, plug wires, pcv filter, and breather. And it started fine that day after some cranking i took it for a test drive and it worked fine. Well the next day it wouldn't start so i tested the coil and it seemed bad so i replaced it and it started after some cranking and a splash of gas in the TB i took it for a test drive and it ran fine again. I went out later that day and started it to go get the mail and it started fine. Today i go out there and it wont start i put some gas in the TB and it still doesn't start. What could it be.

if it won't start with gas or starter fluid down the TB then it's either a compression issue (unlikely) or an ignition issue

Have you checked for spark yet? Just cause it's a new coil doesn't necessarily mean it's good. Not sure if an 89 has a cam or crank sensor but that would be the second place I look
